MATE has been my preference as well. Although I'm taking the time to play a little with others just to see the state of things since it's a new install.

@kdfrawg It wasn't Linux hoops I had to jump through. It was Windows. Between secure boot and freeing up space it took some doing. Linux install was painless after that.

I had to jump through some hoops but I has Linux on my laptop now.

Okay I think I'm going to attempt to make this surface book dual boot. Assuming I can free up enough space that is.

Oh awesome bitlocker recovery mode. Thanks secure boot. :p

Ah yes excellent idea. I'll report on my results when I get the chance.

It's a Microsoft Surface Book. Given how dodgy it is running Windows I'm not sure how the Linux prospect is. But I shall start doing the research and may give it a go anyway.

My patients with Windows is starting to wear a bit thin. Seriously thinking I should put Linux on this laptop (drivers willing).

Okay Mr. Coffee since you aren't going to brew me some goodness I'll fire up the kettle and have some Earl Grey instead.
