I wonder if I sounded as absurd to my mom at 14 as my teen sounds to me right now.

Lol brilliant!

I hear you on that. I did prefer the BlaclBerry keyboard when I started carrying one for work. Still find them good but virtual keyboards are equally as good these days. But there is still a learning curve that I'm not sure mother-in-law wants to deal with.

I never got proficient with T9. I went qwerty as soon as I could.

The N95 only had a T9 pad rather than a full qwerty. Unless you meant the N950 which are harder to find

Or perhaps an old Nokia?

Mother-in-law is going to need a new phone soon. She's pretty stuck on using physical keyboards though which are getting to be a rare thing these days. I'm wondering if I should recomend a Blackberry or attempt to track down an older android slider.

Must be one hell of a night club.

Why do dentists like to ask you questions while your mouth is jammed full of odd instruments, some of which are sharp?

We were having a discussion with the teen about a book and how little time she (my wife) has right now to read.
